Individual students are responsible for getting a student visa (D-2) from the Korean Consulate in his or her home country using the Letter of Acceptance from the University.
A tourist visa is good for only 90 days and cannot be extended.
A working visa cannot be obtained with the University’s Letter of Acceptance.
Do not be concerned if your period of stay on the visa is shorter than your planned period of study. A student visa can be extended without leaving Korea.
Most students coming to Korea will arrive at the Incheon International Airport (www.airport.or.kr). The City of Cheongju is located about two to three hours south of the airport, by airport limousine bus service.
Buses leaving for Cheongju can be found at the 2B 9A platform ground level exit of the airport. (be careful not to go to the city of Chungju). Buses depart at 7:30am, 9:00am, 10:00am, and at other regular times until 9:30pm. The fare is approximately 12,400 won. For more details contact the Chungbuk Transportation Service at +82-43-259-4152.
One can also go to Kangnam Express Bus Terminal, and then take an express bus to Cheongju (bus fare is approximately 6,000 won for the regular bus, and 7,000 won for the luxury bus).
After arriving at the Cheongju Bus Terminal, the University can be reached by taxi. It takes about ten minutes and the fare is about 3,000 won, which is relatively inexpensive.
