Environmental Engineering is concerned with the principles, technology and methodology for solving problems related to the quality of the environment as well as the impact of their application to society. A proficient environmental engineer requires the ability to contribute to the planning, design, evaluation and analysis of technological innovations for improving environmental quality in response to overmanaging goals and the needs of society. Within the Department of Environmental Engineering, there are five major areas: water and wastewater treatments, air pollution controls, solid wastes managements, environmental system analysis and impact assessment, environmental biotechnology.
