The education goal is to recognize the importance of environmentally friendly renewable wood and paper resources, and cultivate of abilities as administrators and experts who meet the social needs and foster professional human resources in the field of using and processing wood biomass material, which is a high tech functional material.
In this major, the widespread subjects of natural sciences covering biology, chemistry and physics are systematically taught, and then researchers and engineers with the most advanced knowledge on the forest products are trained to elucidate the efficient, environmentally sensitive, and sustainable use of forest resources.
Faculty members and students are involved in a wide range of research projects, including dendroanatomy and dendrochronology; wood engineering and physics; wood chemistry; forest products manufacturing; advanced wood processing; pulping and papermaking; and paper properties and converting.
